Useless ? Not at all ! The comments of the steps were as much inspiring as the show of the pictures
itself (or even more than the pictures). Also, your "for 1 image there is 20 sketches" is so true  ^^
Anyway, ending with such a final product out of this simple first skecth is an amazing thing !

Uhm... You actually did the perspective sketch of this with brush only? Without use of any 3D references or anything? Just a mouse-brush?

Yes- did a 2 point perspective grid with the line tool using my mouse if I remember right

Is there any way you could do a step by step process of what you did in photoshop to get it to look like this? Or maybe you already did this someplace?

Great tutorial, straight to my favourites and then downlaoded for later use. Well done! I find your story quite captivating also... I seem to be in the 'middle' of your story... I have just got off the video games and have now dussted off the 2 year old bamboo tablet and started in digital art but am currently terrrible. Anyway, you are just amazing!

As good as the final piece is, I actually really like Step 4 as an image. The vague shape of the ringed planet in the distant mist bearing down on the spacecraft is a really evocative and mysterious idea, I think. A good setup for a space horror/psychological thriller. :)

Have you thought about doing thumbnail sketches first?
Just curious, no attack.

Looks great.

Thanks - well I read up on some perspective first, and watched some tutorials and whatnot.

Here's a good thread (you might have to register): [link]
Some videos I bookmarked (I dont rememebr which I found the most useful):
- 1 point perspective: [link]
- 2 point perspective: [link]

3 point perspective tutorial:

If you google this stuff there is a ton of tutorials out there.

Lastly, the "easy" way I guess would be these two:

One of the best things about this tutorial is the fact that you designed the layout so it FITS on one's computer screen L to R when viewed full size. Well done.

Haha does it? I have a 20" widescreen and it fits well on mine...didn't really consider 1280x1024 though to be honest - maybe I should have. Glad you like it though.

Well for starters - DA has tons of inspiration. I also drew some inspiration from a game called Eve Online.
